Enventive® is an easy-to-use tool set that combines geometric, mathematical, and empirical data modeling. This combination results into a model that incorporates form, fit and function. Enventive goes beyond geometry to include design functions such as time, force, temperature, pressure, voltage, friction, torque, physical properties, and more. These performance parameters, and others, can be easily modeled and analyzed for variability, reliability and sensitivity. The software proceeds to calculate the design function statistical variance and the percentage contribution of each parameter to that variability and sensitivity. It also calculates the worst case variation of the design function. Enventive has proven itself time and again in countless situations throughout a diverse customer base.

ENTERPRISE COST MANAGEMENT (ECM)
The Enterprise Cost Management® (ECM) application creates a central repository for the collective cost expertise of the company and makes that knowledge available on demand across functional boundaries. ECM supports unified access to the cost engineering tools best-suited to the task, such as:
• Analytical: Rule based, expert models
• Statistical: Historical data models
• Analogical: Case Base Reasoning models
• Parametric: Parameter based models
• Specific: Proprietary systems
ECM is a Knowledge Center (KC) application. The KC is a middle-ware development environment including a persistent object server, built-in scripting language, mapping for fast retrieval and user interface builder. ECM utilizes the KC's six data views, including a web view that allows access through Internet Explorer from Microsoft.
Cost Advantage® is a rule based expert system specifically geared toward the cost and producibility arenas. Cost Advantage will provide automated cost assessment for both parts and assemblies, producibility analysis, design guidance, manufacturing alternatives, DFM/A review, easy identification of possible cost drivers, and automated trade studies.
It allows you to easily capture your knowledge and expertise about your design and manufacturing processes and to also include the knowledge and expertise of your vendors for those processes which you may be out-sourcing.
Due to the extensive development recently at Cognition in the area of the data mining with a variety of CAD systems, we have acquired significant understanding into the interactivity between Cost Advantage and the CAD arena. The inherent nature of Cost Advantage to easily capture rule sets, coupled with our understanding of the CAD environment has allowed us to extend these design rule sets to directly drive the CAD environment. We refer to this practice as "Direct Engineering".
